I can't call this the 10th anniversary. Anniversary implies a happy occasion and this is anything but that. Looking at these pictures on the 10th Memorial of this horrific day makes my heart heavy. I can't watch the replays of that day: I WATCHED IT AS IT HAPPENED ! I don't need to watch it again.

What saddens my heart even more is that the immediate unity of our country after this event became unraveled just as quickly with the myths conceived by conspiracy theorists and others; how many in our country now apparently want to honor and appease those of similar mindset to the perpetrators of this cowardice act.

I thank and honor all those who gave their lives on this terrible day; I thank those who worked so hard to help many escape The Towers and the Pentagon, not thinking for one minute of their own health or well-being, but selflessly putting others before themselves. If only there were more like you in this great nation....

A special thanks and commemoration goes to those on Flight 93, regular ol' citizens such as you and me. They chose to give their lives to save the lives of who knows how many others....

I WILL NEVER FORGET.

Respectully....

I will always remember the attacks of 9/11! I was only 16 years old when the attacks happened that morning! When I saw the North tower collapse I was heart broken because the Twin Towers were New York's belief itself! The Twin Towers meant so much to this country! I am also depressed about the fact that alot of people lost their loved ones in the attacks! Over 3,000 people were killed!

I think the best memorial we can give to the families of the victims is to rebuild the Twin Towers but stronger! The Twin Towers are a symbol of America and they deserve another chance! Rebuild the Twin Towers in the memory of 3,000 people R.I.P.

Josh let me know if you get a response. Its pretty frustrating you can see the disaster and there is nothing you can personally do to prevent it.

I'm curious as to how they will respond as well. In order for the amendment process to work, 2/3 of states have to request it. Send a similar letter to your state rep and senator. Even in Washington you could get some traction. I've heard that the Washington state Attorney General has joined in the lawsuit against healthcare.

Nice job!!! I tried to understand most of that - all new stuff to me. I like that you offered suggestions and not just say what's wrong. I'll eagerly await any responses you get and keep my fingers crossed.

That whole posterity comment confused me too. My posterity makes me look pretty good too. Go get 'em Josh. Right now, I am so discouraged about pretty much everything Obama has done so far. It seems with each new "victory" we are facing more trouble. Is his goal to destroy America? Sometimes I wonder.....

Just as a response to nnnn "BigDaddyVA":

As Mr. BigDaddyVA so eloquently shared with everyone, p. 27 is where "CERTAIN EXPIRING PROVISIONS" will be extended through 2011. Not "all the middle tax cuts" are extended as he said. Specifically relating to the article, "the option to deduct state sales-tax payments instead of state and local income taxes". What he didn't divulge is that this extension was only through 2011. The budget projects out 10 years. According to p. 27, Obama will throw us a bone for a couple of years and then stick it to us for the other 8.

Also, on p. 147, it does show Obama indexing the AMT to 2009 levels which means it grows with inflation (which is coming, especially if this budget gets passed). As the article states, "Even if the patch is extended to last year’s levels, the tax will hit American families that can hardly be considered wealthy — the AMT exemption for 2009 was $46,700 for singles and $70,950 for married couples filing jointly." If Obama was truly interested in helping the middle class, how about pushing that AMT back up to the rich only as it was originally intended.

Mr. BigDaddyVA is right that the proposal seeks to continue some of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts for people earning under $200,000/$250,000 but does re-emphasize the ending of estate tax, gift, and Generation-skipping tax relief. Not to mention elsewhere he wants to raise capital gains which most all middle income families pay.

The Obama proposal is one thing. We'll see what we get once Pelosi and Reid get their hands on it.

His last sentence is a mystery to me: "Your 'posterity' just makes you look like a fool." Unless he's dissing on my kids, this just isn't a coherent sentence in the context of his comment. If anything I'd say my kids make me look much better than I truly am.

Mr. BigDaddyVA, I appreciate the additional information that you linked and pointed me to. It doesn't change my opinion that the Obama budget is a huge disaster and will push a potential recovery into full-fledged depression if passed. I'll write more on what I think should happen. I do have one word of advice. If your intention is to persuade, the word "fool" should never be used. It just makes you look childish. I would think that someone that works for Bloomberg Financial would have more class than that.

You do realize that the Reuters story is demonstrably false, right?

Everything it says is wrong. It's all in here:

http://www.treas.gov/offices/tax-policy/library/greenbk10.pdf

p. 27 is where they seek all the middle class tax cuts to be extended.

p. 147 is where they continue the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts for people earning under $200,000/$250,000 (joint) and seek a new AMT patch.

Your "posterity" just makes you look like a fool.
